Invisalign on the Go: What You Need

Invisalign on the Go: What You Need

When undergoing Invisalign treatment, there are some essentials that you're going to need to carry with you in order to keep your aligners clean and fresh wherever you are.

A pouch.

Start with a pouch to keep all of your Invisalign maintenance items in. You need something durable that you can toss in your bag, backpack, desk or locker. You're also going to want the pouch to be zippered, with a lining that's water resistant (for damp toothbrushes).

Your aligner case.

When your aligners are not in your mouth, they should be clean and stored in your aligner case. Keep the case with you at all times so that you have a safe, clean place to store your aligners while you're eating, drinking, or brushing your teeth.

Lip balm.

Keep your favourite lip balm in your kit. With orthodontic treatment comes dry lips, especially as you’re first getting used to wearing the aligners. Be prepared.

Travel tooth brush, floss and tooth paste.

Every time you take out your aligners to eat you should brush and floss your teeth. After all, you don’t want food particles and debris stuck between your aligners and your teeth for the rest of the day. Be sure that you brush and floss thoroughly before putting your aligners back in your mouth.

“Outie” Aligner Removal Tool

Your aligners can just be especially tight sometimes, particularly when you first switch over to a new set. This handy tool will help you detach your aligner from your teeth in these cases.

Mints or breath spray.

You can’t chew gum with your Invisalign aligners in place, so if you're concerned about bad breath try mints or breath spray to help you feel more confident.
