Lingual braces are 'behind the teeth' braces; a new style of orthodontic braces that provide a discrete teeth straightening solution for teens and adults working with Dr. Kanani.
What Are Lingual Braces?
Much like traditional braces in appearance, lingual braces are placed behind your teeth (facing into your mouth, rather that out). So although they look like traditional braces, hardly anyone will actually be able to see them!
Lingual braces are made by several manufacturers. Although GAC MTM (Minor Tooth Movement) are Dr. Kanani's favourite lingual braces due in combination to their affordability and ease of use, other brand names include iBraces, Incognito Lingual Braces, and Suresmile lingual braces. Lingual braces can provide efficient, effective tooth movement and low profile aesthetics.
Are you a candidate for Lingual Braces?
Lingual braces have been used to treat men and women ranging in age from 13 to over 60. That said, each individual case is different and whether or not lingual braces are right for you will depend on a variety of factors, such as the extent to which the teeth are crowded.
If you are not a lingual braces candidate, you may still be a candidate for other low profile orthodontic options, such as Invisalign® clear aligners or clear cosmetic braces..
Who Wears Lingual Braces?
Lingual braces are ideal for people who are concerned about wearing braces that show. Adult professionals, musicians who play wind instruments and adults and teens playing contact sports are also ideal candidates.
