In-Ovation System Braces: The Pros and Cons

In-Ovation self-ligating braces are great treatment choice for adults and teens who are seeking a more streamlined look, and gentler approach, to orthodontics. Be sure to consider the following factors before choosing this option!

In-Ovation is a great example of the advances that orthodontics has undergone in recent years. But no matter how advanced the technology, the best treatment choice will always depend on the person being treated.

Is In-Ovation is a good choice for you?

One of the most significant benefits of self-ligating braces is that they are smaller than traditional metal braces. This is because they don’t require bands or ties in order to work. Instead, they use a siding mechanism.

This is beneficial because, due to their smaller size, we find that on average our lingual braces wearers experience less friction against the insides of their mouths when they first get braces.

The smaller size and the lack of ties and bands also makes self-ligating braces somewhat easier to clean, and not quite as likely to hold of to bits of your lunch!

Finally, in certain cases treatment with self-ligating braces can be shorter in duration than that with regular braces.

Other than the above factors, wearing self-ligating braces isn’t too different than wearing regular braces, and even the difference in treatment duration isn’t significant.

Please also note that though prices vary from place to place, on average self-ligating braces are somewhat more expensive than traditional braces are.
